Blood Typing
Have you ever wondered what happens when someone gets a blood transfusion with the wrong blood? This educational game explores the 1930 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine awarded for the discovery of human blood groups made in 1901. Called “Blood Typing”, you learn about Blood Groups, Blood Types, and get to apply that knowledge to a virtual blood transfusion.
Use your finger to drag the needle that collects and tests your blood samples, then drag the correct blood type pint to administer the IV. Good luck!

Texas Instruments, NASA team up on free math curriculum

At the Texas Computer Education Association’s annual conference in Austin in early February, Texas Instruments announced that it has teamed up with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to develop free online math content for teaching Algebra I through AP Calculus.
The “Exploring Space Through Math” curriculum is aligned with standards from the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Portions of the curriculum are available on NASA’s web site now, and more content will be posted as it is created.
The materials aim to use students’ interest in space exploration as a “hook” to get them interested in math. Students will be able to design a space capsule, control the launch of a shuttle, and more–learning key math concepts along the way. The curriculum follows the “5E” instructional model, NASA said: engage, explore, explain, extend, and evaluate. http://humanresearch.jsc.nasa.gov/education/educationprojects.asp

TeacherLed.com Tools – Protractor Angle Measure
An interactive whiteboard resource to demonstrate the measuring of angles to a class. The two black lines can be moved to create varying angles. The arcs signifying the angles in question can be toggled on or off leaving one or both on display by using the two buttons with the red and blue arcs in them. There are two type of angle measurer that can be used: a 180 degree protractor and a 360 degree angle measurer. These can be toggled by the appropriate buttons on the display or removed by using the very top button. The angle measurers can be rotated by clicking and dragging. They will always be centred over the point where the lines meet.
Using this resource you should be able to realistically demonstrate the measuring of angles.
